Fly High


Juhoud for Community & Rural Development, in collabortation with Notre Dame of Jerusalem Hotel & Center, and Arab Hotels Association (AHA), is
implementing the nine months projects of “Fly High” which targets the Tourism and Services in East Jerusalem.
The project comes as part of the “TVET and Employment Promotion Programme” which is implemented by GIZ on behalf of the German Fedral Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
The primary aim of the project promoted by the grant is to implement intergrated TVET and Employment measures to the drop outs in East Jerusalem, towards bridging the gap between the TVET outcomes and the
market needs, through the projects titled” Fly High”. The projectt targets the Tourism and Services sectors and aims at providing life skills, management and technical skills, WBL program, career counselling, jon fairs and job information for unemployed youth in East Jerusalem.

Juhoud for Community and Rural Development:
Juhoud is an independent non-governmental organization that was established in 2003.
Juhoud is committed to supporting community development in marginalized and predominantly rural areas throug promoting economic development,
civic and community engagement, and life-long learning and training using a participatory approach that emphasizes self-relince and focuses on youth and women while fostering a sense of national and community belonging.



The Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Interntionale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH:
The GIZ is a service provider with worldwide operations in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development, GIZ works together wit its partners to develop effective solutions that offer people better prospects and sustainably improve their living conditions.
GIZ is a public-benefit fedral enterprise and supports the German Government
as well as many public and privet sector clients in a wide variety of areas, including economic development and employment, energy and the environment, and peace and security.



The BTC:
The Belgain development agency, BTC, mobilises its resources and its expertise to elimiate poverty in the world.
The BTC contributes to the efforts of the international community and works towards a society that provides present and future generations with sufficient resources to build a sustainable and fair world.



The Notre Dame Hotel and Center in Jerusalem:
The Notre Dame has a training center on Tourism and Catering Services. The training center is very much equipped and provides a short term and long term training program.
Its certificates are recognized by all employers.



The Arab Hotel Association:
The AHA is a Palestinian NGO registerd in Jerusalem and works to promote the Tourism Industry in Jerusalem and Palestine.




Description of the Main Project Activities:


. Life Skills Training (30 Hours), targeting 200 youth.

. Soft Technical Skills in Tourism (30 Hours), targeting 200 youth.

. Internship for Two Months (in Hotel or Restaurants), targeting 100 youth.

. One Stop Shop: will be established in East Jerusalem to deliver services related to career guidance in addition to job offers or vacations in the Tourism Sector.

. Three Job Fairs: in East Jerusalem, Ramallah & Bethlehem.
