About the Project:
This project aims to increase the level of immediate positive participation and engagement of youth through establishing new youth local councils and activating already existing ones in the ten targeted municipalities, building the capacities of these youth, promoting the concept of good and productive citizenship to at least 2000 inhabitants by conducting public hall meetings and awareness sessions, improving and increasing the quantity and quality of the municipal services by maximizing the community engagement and sharing resources by implementing local initiatives and revising and improving municipal services. This will increase municipal revenues by increasing the quality and quantity of services, in addition to increasing accountability and transparency of local governments and enhancing civic participation and extending the Youth Local Council practice to all targeted municipalities.
Achieved outcomes:
- Announcements for Youth Local Councils through municipalities platforms and channels are distributed and published.
- 10 MOUs with the targeted communities and municipalities to establish the new YLCs are signed,
- Selection Criteria for Candidates is developed,
- Youth General Assembly has been registered,
- Youth nomination and registration in the targeted communities were done,
- Elections campaign for youth candidates were conducted,
- 10 educational activities for all GA members were conducted,
- Establishing all YLCs were accomplished.
